The Research in User eXperience (RUX) lab investigates issues related to user experience and usability of software, products, and processes.

 

The lab conducts research and provides consulting services to industry in the following areas:

Understanding your target users’ goals, motivations, and capabilities is paramount to the design process or simply recognizing whether a products “works”. We use a variety of qualitative methods to explore user populations and understand what is important to them.

Evaluation

Evaluating a product or service’s usability and user experience can be done a number of ways – a deep dive in isolation or comparatively with competitors. We use the goals of the assessment and understanding of the target users to guide us to the appropriate
evaluation methodology.

Research
& Design

We employ a variety of human factors methods and techniques to understand user behavior, both objectively and subjectively. We also conduct literature reviews and are trained to determine appropriate experimental designs and statistical methods to quantify behavior.
